Two-alarm fire spreads from East Village house to two-story building [Breaking]
Firefighters are working to put out a two-alarm blaze that ignited in a house and spread to a two-story building in the East Village community Saturday afternoon, fire officials said.
The fire was reported about 4:10 p.m. on Island Avenue near 17th Street, the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department said on Twitter. Firefighters arrived a minute later. Officials asked the public to avoid the area while crews work to get the blaze under control. So far, the damage has been contained to the two buildings, fire officials said.
