Twisters, the upcoming Twister sequel starring Glen Powell, is predicted to have a strong opening weekend at the box office.
, Twisters is currently tracking to make approximately $55 million in North America during its opening weekend, according to The National Research Group. Universal, who is distributing the movie in the United States, is predicting a $40-$45 million opening weekend, while The Quorom believes it could do between $54-$61 million.
Twister, in comparison, made approximately $41.1 million during its opening weekend. It went on to make $495,700,000 at the global box office, making it the second highest-grossing film of 1996 behind Independence Day. “Daisy Edgar-Jones stars as Kate Carter, a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years who now studies storm patterns on screens safely in New York City,” the synopsis for Twisters reads. “She is lured back to the open plains by her friend, Javi to test a groundbreaking new tracking system.
