Babies Lydia and Timothy Ridgeway came from embryos frozen by an anonymous couple in April 1992 and were born to parents Rachel and Philip outside of Portland this past Halloween.
Lydia and Timothy Ridgeway were born just a few weeks ago — but they could’ve grown up signing into AOL via dial-up, loving Barney the dinosaur and renting videos from Blockbuster.
“We liked the idea that we are saving lives that are trapped,” Philip, 35 and a software developer, told The Post. Along with saving frozen embryos from potentially being destroyed, donation can be tens of thousands of dollars cheaper than conventional IVF because the embryos have already been created. “I don’t think we ever considered traditional adoption,” said Philip. “[Frozen embryos] all human beings in the image of God, they’re all in need of a father and mother, and this was a case where we could provide that need.”
