Tuscaloosa police say a couple were discovered dead early this morning in what investigators believe was a murder suicide. Capt. Jack Kennedy of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit said the incident happened at Winding Creek Apartments, 6802 Old Greensboro Rd.Once they arrived, they found the bodies of Devin Levon Walker, 24, and Bernice Etienne Walker, 24, both dead from gunshot wounds.
Witnesses told police the two, who were married, were engaged in some type of domestic altercation, both inside and outside their apartment.“This is a tragic example of domestic violence,” Kennedy said. “We ask for the privacy of the victim’s family at this time. Although there are no outstanding suspects at this time, the case will still be investigated to the same standards as every other case the VCU works.
