I am using the Monin Golden Turmeric Syrup. I tried the toddy with gin and with Cutty Sark Prohibition blended scotch. The scotch version was way better. I added Hellfire Bitters to the gin version which improved it a bit. Would make it again.Writing as I drink, so this could get interesting. Delicious — the inherent dirtiness of the turmeric is offset by the hint of bourbon and the mellowness of the amontillado, and it’s all brought together with the lemon somehow.
Plus, the idea that this drink will somehow cure your husband’s gout and inflow your heart makes me want to drink lots of it. Will definitely make again and again and again...I quite liked it! Interesting and complex flavours... I appreciated that I could taste notes of all of them. Turmeric can be intense if you aren't used to it though, and if you haven't grated it fresh before, be aware it is SO YELLOW and will stain.
