Filipino karateka Junna Tsukii has expressed her dismay over a netizen's comment on her 'Filipino-ness'.
'Paano naging Pinay iyan? Pangalan at hitsura walang bakas ng pagiging Pilipino,' the comment of a netizen, whose name Tsukii covered, wrote.In a Facebook post on Saturday, Tsukii defended her Filipino upbringing.'What is your idea of Filipino-ness? First of all, my mother is Filipino. I was born in Pasay. I have been a member of the Philippine karate team for 6 years. We wear the Filipino flag on our chest and work hard every day,' she wrote.
I am proud of my brave heart and of my mother who gave me Filipino blood.'In the comment section, the 31-year-old karateka, who won silver at the 50 kg kumite event on Saturday, said more will be hurt by the netizen's comments.'If we allow him with kindness, more people will continue to be hurt by shallow actions like his. He should think hard about the foolish actions he took,' Tsukii wrote.
