Supporters of former President Donald Trump have gathered enough signatures in Wisconsin to force a recall vote of Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, a Republican.
over his objections to Trump, and they are expected to file the recall petition on Monday with more than 10,000 signatures. Only 6,850 signatures are needed to trigger the recall.
“With more than 10,000 signatures on our recall petition, they’ve said it loud and clear: they’re tired of the status quo and demand new representation,” Matt Snorek, who started the campaign in January,Vos, who has served as the state speaker since 2013, dismissed the effort as a waste of time and resources. It comes after Trump lost Wisconsin toBiden only won the state by approximately 21,000 votes, but it has withstood multiple challenges, partial recounts, and an independent audit.
