U.S. President Donald Trump has cancelled an official visit to Denmark following the Scandinavian nation's rejection of his wish to buy Greenland, the world's largest island.

The President announced the cancellation on Twitter:"Denmark is a very special country with incredible people, but based on Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen’s comments, that she would have no interest in discussing the purchase of Greenland, I will be postponing our meeting scheduled in two weeks for another time," he said, adding that he wanted to reschedule his visit.
The announcement came as a surprise to many, including Carla Sands, U.S. Ambassador to Denmark. Just hours before,Trump is referring to the response from Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, who called the idea of a sale"." She has not yet commented on the cancellation, but other Danish politicians have not been so silent.
