Thiel, who donated over $1 million to Trump's presidential campaign, said Sunday that Google’s relationship with the Chinese government should be investigated by the CIA and the FBI.

President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that his administration will investigate Google’s relationship with China after billionaire Peter Thiel accused the search giant of committing treason.that Thiel is a “great and brilliant guy who knows this subject better than anyone! The Trump Administration will take a look!”said at a conference on Sunday

that Google’s work with the Chinese government should be investigated by the CIA and the FBI. In a speech at the National Conservatism Conference in Washington, the Palantir founder and Silicon Valley investor added that Google’s decision to partner with the Chinese military instead of the U.S. government seemed “treasonous.”Thiel also claimed Google’s senior management has been infiltrated by the Chinese security services but provided no evidence to support this.

DeepMind, a London-based AI lab that he invested in before it was bought by Google for $600 million in 2014, was a particular concern for Thiel. According to Bonnie Kavoussi, who attended the talk and, Thiel said: “Google is building artificial general intelligence at DeepMind. We need to be asking: Is this a military weapon?”

Thiel added: “Silicon Valley has been a lot more dishonest about artificial intelligence than we were about the nuclear bomb, and we have also had far less discussion of it.”Google was criticized last year over its plans to create a censored search engine for China under a project code-named Dragonfly.

Thiel is famous for cofounding Paypal and unicorn Palantir, which provides data-mining software to governments and companies around the world. He also made over $1 billion off the back of a $500,000 investment into Facebook. Thiel is also known for funding the lawsuit that brought down Gawker Media. He has a net worth of $2.
