Poll: Only 29 percent of people worldwide are confident in Trump to do the right thing
The survey of people in more than 30 countries by Pew Research Center showed the U.S. president had the most negative ratings out of five world leaders when participants were asked whether they trusted them to do the right thing in world affairs.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel was the most trusted of the five leaders, with 46 percent of respondents saying they had confidence in her and 29 percent expressing no confidence, followed by French President Emmanuel Macron with 41 percent confidence. While support for Trump is low worldwide, the report noted approval of the U.S. as a country is generally higher.
