“I think it’s sort of, you know, sowing confusion, and you know, trying to undermine what might come out as soon as next week, the redacted version of the Mueller report,” New York Times correspondent Katie Rogers said.
New York Times correspondent Katie Rogers took issue Sunday with President Donald Trump's latest Twitter attack on the media, pointing out a potential logical flaw in the president's argument.
"When you're starting your morning attack of institutions, I think you've gotta pick a lane,” Rogers said. “Either the leaks are real or the news is fake,” she continued with a laugh, “and you’ve got to go one way with this.” Attorney General William Barr has said he will release a redacted version of special counsel Robert Mueller’s final report, which was officially submitted last month, by mid-April. What remains to be seen is how much of the report will be kept from public view.
Some reportedly suggested that the final report was actually more damaging to the president than Barr’s initial summary suggested. Trump’s Sunday morning tweet was apparently referring to such reports as well as the members of Mueller’s team who reportedly spoke to the media.
