The quick response of Pennsylvania State police officers prevented further bloodshed, according to Lycoming County District Attorney Ryan C. Gardner.
UNITYVILLE—Two men and two women are dead following what the Lycoming County district attorney is calling a “mass fatality” incident Saturday.
State police said they got a call at 9:38 a.m. of a woman being shot near Unityville in rural eastern Lycoming County about a hundred yards from the Columbia County line.“fired shots and the scene was secured,”No trooper was hit by gunfire but the release does not specify if they were fired upon. Gardner said he did not know.
Gardner did not know if any of the deceased, whose names have not been disclosed, were related. All were adults, he said.Route 239 remained closed early Saturday evening as investigators remained at the crime scenes.
