“He’s got it all,” Popovich said of Brunson. “He’s got the skill, but he’s also got the toughness. He’s got the basketball IQ to go with it. Just a hell of a competitor.” A free throw by Evan Fournier made it 117-114. The game ended with Johnson failing to get off a 3-point shot before the buzzer sounded.Johnson led the Spurs with 26 points on 7 of 16 from the field and 10 of 12 from the free throw line. Josh Richardson came off the bench for 20 points. Three others finished in double figures for the Spurs: Zach Collins , Doug McDermott and Tre Jones .
It was a tough night for Sochan, who started out defending Brunson and finished scoreless on 0 of 3 shooting.
