The Jacksonville Jaguars officially listed Pro Bowl quarterback Trevor Lawrence as questionable to play Thursday night against the New Orleans Saints.
Lawrence suffered a left knee injury late in Jacksonville's win over the Indianapolis Colts last weekend. The Jaguars injury report indicates that Lawrence did not participate in practice on Monday, then did so in a limited capacity on Tuesday and Wednesday. The 24-year-old QB said earlier this week that his knee had improved rapidly since Sunday and he was optimistic about his chances of playing Thursday.'I'm going to do everything I can to be out there,' Lawrence said Tuesday.
'ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that while Lawrence's injury isn't considered serious, the Jaguars will likely wait close to game time Thursday to determine if he will play. The decision could be impacted, according to ESPN, by the fact that the game at the Caesars Superdome will be played on artificial turf. Several prominent players, including Jason and Travis Kelce, have been outspoken recently about wanting to play only on grass fields to prevent lower-body injuries.
