Week 3 highlights and a look at Week 4 in Times Area football

But anyone who was in attendance in Bordentown last Friday night might have had a hard time recognizing that fact.
“We have five seniors and one’s a punter,” Bordentown coach Skip Edwards said of his team after the win over Lawrence. “So we have four seniors that play. We’re working with a lot of young kids, like Carter Stumpf, is only a sophomore. He was all over the field tonight, tackling their big fullback . He did an awesome job. And Rich just gets these kids to come and play every single week.
“We’re young on offense but we’re working hard to make the corrections,” Edwards said after his team had defeated Lawrence. “So the numbers have been increasing as years have been going by. We treat the kids as if they’re our sons. Like I tell them, ‘We love you, but there’s just going to be days we don’t like you.’”
Hopewell has been off the charts on offense, breaking 40 points in every game so far this season and scoring 183 points combined in its first four games this season. Allentown running back Sean McCaffery has also scored six touchdowns, having gained 371 yards so far this season. Along with Schweitzer, he makes up part of a potent one-two ground game punch.
