Paramount's Transformers and G.I. Joe crossover movie, which may star Chris Hemsworth, taps Jurassic World's Derek Connolly as writer.
Connolly’s writing credits include 2012’s Safety Not Guaranteed, 2015’s Jurassic World, 2016’s Monster Trucks, 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, 2018’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, 2019’s Pokémon Detective Pikachu, 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, 2022’s Jurassic World Dominion, and 2024’s Deep Cover.“The crossover feature will bring together two of Hasbro’s biggest toy lines, Transformers and G.I. Joe.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian, Michael Bay, Tom DeSanto, and Don Murphy are producing the Transformers and G.I. Joe crossover movie, while Steven Spielberg and Hasbro Entertainment will be executive producers. The crossover between the two Hasbro properties was hinted at in the final moments of 2023’s Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, which was directed by Steven Caple Jr. and starred Anthony Ramos. It is not yet known if Ramos will reprise his role as Noah Diaz in the new movie.
Before the crossover movie, Paramount is releasing an animated Transformers movie, titled Transformers One, in United States theaters this September. Hemsworth is voicing Optimus Prime/Orion Pax in Transformers One, while the cast also includes Brian Tyree Henry as Megatron/D-16, Scarlett Johansson as Elita, Keegan-Michael Key as Bumblebee, Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion, Jon Hamm as Sentinel Prime, and Steve Buscemi.
