THE Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases clarified Saturday, June 4, that the conduct of sports activities, including events and tournaments, are allowed in areas under Alert Level 1.
Also, 62 percent of the total component cities and municipalities in the Philippines are under the same level. The clarification came after several LGUs under Alert Level 1 status have already been holding sports activities, such as basketball and other contact sports. It said well-fitted masks must be worn properly at all times, whether outdoors or indoors, private or public establishments, except when eating and drinking, participating in team and individual sport in venues where ventilation standards can be maintained, and when practicing outdoor sports/exercise activities where physical distance can be maintained.
