TRAGIC UPDATE: A child has died after a cement truck reportedly lost control and went off an overpass, landing on another vehicle in northeast Harris County Friday afternoon, deputies said.
Officials with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened in the main lanes of Frontage Road headed southbound at Beltway 8 near Woodforest Boulevard.
According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, it appeared that the large truck traveling on the mainlanes of the Beltway apparently veered off the bridge and landed on its side on top of the other vehicle. Four people, including the 22-month-old, were inside the vehicle. Three of the occupants were able to get out.Update to crash scene: deceased child is 22-months-old.
