Every year, hundreds of Gulf of Mexico oil workers from various companies land at Shell PLC’s offshore-skills center for Tropical Helicopter Underwater Escape Training, known as T-HUET.

That means everybody, including engineers, the housekeeping crew, and roustabouts. Even C-suite executives who go offshore have to pass the test.
