Tinder is testing an artificial intelligence feature that looks through a user’s photos for the ones that represent them best on their dating profile.
“Sometimes, people are really excited to jump into the Tinder experience,” says March Group CEO Bernard Kim. “Then in that exact moment where you upload five pictures, people get generally nervous or uncomfortable, like, ‘What is the right picture that I’ve taken over the last year to make my dating profile more me?’”
“I really think AI can help our users build better profiles in a more efficient way that really do showcase their personalities,” Kim says in a call with investors and analysts.Kim says that Match Group will be launching further AI initiatives to help “eliminate awkwardness” and improve the online dating experience. This includes using generative AI to help write a user’s bio. According to a Tinder study, a third of its members say they would use generative AI to help them make their profile.
