Strong storms possible Wednesday evening through Thursday morning
We're kicking off the month of May with a severe weather risk, as showers and strong storms move in Wednesday evening and push through overnight.Early Wednesday morning, the Storm Prediction Center increased the risk for parts of Central Texas starting later today. All of Central Texas has been upgraded to a"slight" -level 2 out of 5- risk for strong storms. Most of Mason County has been upgraded even further to an"enhanced" -level 3 out of 5- risk.
, a line of storms will begin pushing in from the west into the Hill Country. This line will continue to move eastward overnight.The line of storms grows more widespread and pushes into the I-35 corridor at roughly 10:30 p.m. or 11 p.m. Some of these storms will contain heavy rainfall and could lead to flooding concerns on top of the threat for damaging wind and hail.Storms arrive in the Coastal Plains around 1 a.m. to 2 a.m.
