Tempe police officials are giving an update on a shooting that wounded two children and left a 5-year-old dead earlier this month.
ABC15 Arizona Live Video Officials say at least 24 shots were fired from one vehicle and into another in a targeted attack near 52nd Street and Broadway Road on March 17. The vehicle that was shot at had an 18-year-old and six children inside, with all of the children between the ages of 2 and 17.
A 5-year-old was pronounced dead and two other children, 8 and 17, were taken to a hospital for treatment from gunshots, police said. Police say a 16-year-old, 17-year-old, and 30-year-old were arrested on March 21 in connection to this shooting. All three are being charged as adults. Tempe police said Monday that they are confident that all of the suspects responsible are in custody.
