Over $300,000 was raised to secure a helpful piece of medical equipment.
DOTHAN, Ala. - The Southeast Health Foundation hosted their 17th annual gala at the National Peanut Festival Fairgrounds on Saturday evening.The piece of medical equipment they are raising money for to add to their fleet is called a neonatal isolette transport. Amanda Stokes, the special events manager with Southeast Health Foundation, explained how the isolette could help sick or premature babies access the care they need from place to place.
“This year we are raising for a neonatal isolette which is essentially the NICU unit that goes inside of the ambulance that transports the NICU babies to and from if they have appointments, if they need to go to another hospital for any reason, or if a baby has a condition that we can’t treat at our hospital, this allows us to transport those babies safely and gets them from point A to point B,” said Stokes.
