More than 30 North Texas libraries were recently honored with a rare accolade.
The award was given to only 10% of Texas’ public libraries. More than half of those are in Dallas-Fort Worth.

The Texas Municipal Library Directors Association recognized dozens of state libraries with the 2021 Achievement of Library Excellence Award. The award was bestowed to 59 of Texas’ 565 public libraries, or about 10%. More than half of the winning libraries are in Dallas-Fort Worth.
To receive the award, libraries have to show excellence in providing services to underserved communities, demonstrate innovation in cultural and educational programming and promote literacy and workforce development, among other criteria.Balch Springs Library – Learning CenterCoppell – Cozby Library and Community Commons
