These walk-outs were in protest to the school’s “toxic culture” as well as the administration’s failure to mitigate it.how students at Bodine High School are voicing their discontent with how the school is being run. This is especially given the conditions they claim to be subjected to on a regular basis which include constant violence and body-shaming.
“There’s been so many fights,” tells one anonymous teacher to the Inquirer. “There’s no repercussions for anything. You can be late, you can fight, you can not come to school—no one gets called, nothing happens to anyone for anything. Nothing is reported.”
