Targeting a return in late 2023, the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association or JAMA has confirmed that the Tokyo Motor Show is no more. Instead, it will be re-branded as the Japan Mobility Show.
Faced with a dwindling participation from foreign auto brands, JAMA hopes to bring an array of new participants under an “all-industry banner.” The Japan Mobility Show will include everything from motorcycles to startups to even software companies involved in mobility-as-a-service. Organizers hope that the Japan Mobility Show will attract one million visitors. Media days are scheduled for October 25 to 26, while the show itself will run until November 5, 2023. It will still be held at the Tokyo Big Sight., shutting down the event for the first time in its history, because of the COVID-19 pandemic.— to showcase the Japanese auto industry's push to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
