While most movies and TV shows have shut down due to the strike, filming on The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 will continue
Season 2 release date won’t be changed despite the work stoppage.reports that The Rings of Power Season 2 scripts were completed in advance, so the production will continue, and the release date has been unaffected. However, showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne & Patrick McKay will not be on set. As long as the strike persists, Payne, McKay, and the other writers cannot participate in “writing-based duties” and make “creative decisions” on set.
In the very last moments of Season 1, the three Rings of Power were forged. Meanwhile, Halbrand revealed himself as the Dark Lord Sauron to Galadriel and asked her to be the Dark Queen, an offer she vehemently refused. Halbrand later reached Mordor, and the sophomore season will continue to explain how Sauron morphed into the iconic villain in The Lord of the Rings franchise.
