The all-new 2022 Range Rover is the first to have a seven-seat option, while SV trim is more luxurious than ever and plug-in hybrid models offer 62 miles of electric driving.
The flagship of the range has a 4.4-liter V8 engine with 516 horsepower, 750Nm of torque and a 0-62mph time of just 4.6 seconds. Top speed is limited to 155mph.
The most talked-about detail ahead of the reveal was the rear light cluster – and, to the untrained eye, the rear is where the most change has taken place. In a move that will doubtless be copied by others in the years to come, the new Range Rover’s rear lights are entirely black when not illuminated.
Inside, the cabin is a supremely luxurious place to be. The dashboard will be familiar to drivers of current JLR products, complete with the latest Pivi Pro infotainment system running on a crisp and bright 13.7-inch touchscreen display. It is one of the better systems on today’s market and the climate controls thankfully remain physical, instead of being operated via the touchscreen.
SV cars get cool-to-the-touch ceramic controls and exterior badging, deep-pile mohair carpets and the option for luxury non-leather materials from Ultrafabrics. Having felt these for myself, I think I prefer them to traditional leather.Jaguar Land Rover
