Bill Wisener’s shaggy music-and-memorabilia emporium lives on, in spirit, at the Cedars.

The project was commissioned by developer Matthews Southwest, which owns South Side on Lamar and the building that housed Bill’s final store. Wisener moved his shop to the Cedars in 2007 after years in North Dallas.

The memorial art piece isn’t the only tribute to the beloved record store owner. In 2020, Josey Records bought Wisener’s massive inventory and set up a special section in his honor at its Farmers Branch store.
