The Buckeyes were Jones’ ninth Power Five offer, with the other eight consisting of Oregon, Oregon State, Tennessee, Georgia, Louisville, Washington, Boston College and Nebraska.
In two games this season for St. John Bosco , Jones caught two passes for 80 yards and a touchdown while playing for one of the most star-studded high school programs in the country. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound wideout does not yet hold a composite ranking from 247Sports, but with his recruiting pedigree and size, he figures to be among the nation’s most-coveted recruits in the cycle going forward.
The 6-foot-5, 230-pound tight end is expected to be an early enrollee at OSU this winter, but will first play in the Under Armour All-America game on Tuesday. In Thurman’s senior season, he helped lead Langston Hughes to a perfect 15-0 record with 39 catches for 624 yards with 13 receiving touchdowns.
