"I just think that a Fantasy Suite for someone of my age may look quite different...the activities could be quite different...for someone in their 20's and 30's," Gerry explained, before getting into the advice he was given from his daughters and granddaughters.
Gerry Turner Admits He Felt "Shock & Awe" Entering Golden Bachelor Mansion As a part of Bachelor Nation, Gerry has been watching the original series for years. "[My daughters and granddaughters] got me started watching it, they were the ones that motivated me to respond early on to the casting call," Gerry shared, explaining that they're all "very much fans of the show" who have advised Gerry to "enjoy every minute you can.
As the first Golden Bachelor, Gerry doesn't have much of a roadmap when it comes to navigating his time on the series. Though he was hopeful before his first night in the mansion, he didn't exactly have an understanding of what he was getting himself into. Gerry, who's been very conscious of what his late wife would've wanted for him, has been doing the best he can to keep himself emotionally present and available throughout the process.
As The Golden Bachelor gets started, likely with some surprising twists and turns, Gerry's journey will be an exciting one for viewers to watch. With his time as the lead bringing in a brand-new era for Bachelor Nation, hopefully, Gerry will find a match as he moves through the series and gets to know the new women in his life.
