The Flash has one of the most dangerous rivals of all time — and that was before he accidentally made the Reverse-Flash even more dangerous.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Few comic-book characters have a rivalry as intense as the Flash and Reverse Flash. The one thing that made this bitter rivalry at least a bit manageable was the fact that Reverse-Flash was unable to directly hurt the Flash — but when the Flash caused Flashpoint, this accidentally gave Reverse-Flash the biggest power-up he'd ever gotten.
The Flash and Reverse-Flash have been fighting each other for decades, thought neither has ever made any progress against the other. Reverse-Flash can't kill the Flash because, due to time travel rules, Reverse-Flash needs the Flash to live in order for himself to exist. If Barry Allen were killed prematurely, then Eobard Thawne would fade away as well.
Because of Barry's actions, Reverse-Flash now exists outside the timeline. This means that he is no longer beholden to any future or past events. Theoretically, Reverse-Flash could go back in time and kill his own parents and then continue to exist under these new conditions. This makes Reverse-Flash significantly more dangerous, since, as he exclaims to Barry, Reverse-Flash could go kill Barry while he's still in the womb now; literally no rules apply to him anymore.
Reverse Flash Admits He's Unstoppable The Reverse-Flash has always been absurdly dangerous, trying to murder Barry's friends and family any way he can to hurt the Flash indirectly since he couldn't do it directly. But when Barry makes the biggest mistake of his life in creating Flashpoint, he also empowers his worst villain.
