True crime fans are going to love this update on the upcoming Lifetime movie about the Chris Watts case.
admitted to killing his pregnant wife and their two daughters, resulting in five life sentences. Now, an'Chris Watts: Confessions of a Killer' follows Chris' crime and his confession. Here's the movie's description, via Lifetime -- and it seems ripped right from the headlines.
"When Chris Watts tearfully pleaded to television cameras for the safe return of his missing pregnant wife Shanann and their two young daughters, dark secrets loomed just beneath the surface. As the story spread, hearts went out to the distraught father and husband, who appeared to lead a charmed life. But days later, after failing a lie detector test, Chris confessed to brutally murdering his family and slowly revealed the horrific details of their deaths.
The story behind Watts' case is heartbreaking, and it looks like the Lifetime movie isn't holding back.It's obviously not a documentary, so we assume they'll take some creative liberties with the story. But being that this was such a devastating case -- and it happened so recently -- we hope that this movie will treat what happened to Watts' family as seriously and sensitively as possible.
We're definitely interested to see how this movie portrays such a horrific event. Not much longer until we find out for sure!
