The federal agencies viewed most and least positively by the U.S. public:

found that Americans maintain a mostly positive view of eight high-profile federal departments and agencies out of 13 included in the research. After being named the top-rated agency in 2014, 2017 and 2018, the U.S. Postal Service scored top marks with the U.S. public once again in 2019. This year, 74% of those polled said the USPS is doing an excellent or good job while only 18% said it is doing things fairly and 8% said it is doing its job poorly.

The Secret Service came second with 69% of the public saying it is doing an excellent or good job while the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention rounded off the top-three with 64%. Further down the table, the oft-loathed IRS comes in ninth with 50% saying the tax collectors and administrators at the agency are performing well, an improvement on the 45% it garnered in 2017.
