In just over a year, the Dream Center venture is going belly up, abandoning up to 26,000 students. Some campuses are being closed today, others have been purchased by a private equity firm, and more than three dozen have been placed under the control of a court-appointed receiver. According to the, Dream Center, which had no previous experience in higher education management, projected a first-year profit of $30 million. But now, it looks like it has lost $38 million.
