Revealing unseen chapters from the lives of both the rogue Jedi Barriss Offee and Thrawn's Nightsister ally Morgan Elsbeth, Tales of the Empires promises to be equally dark and fascinating. However, Offee's fate in particular may surprise people by how dark it could become.
Barriss Offee The Mirialan apprentice of Luminara Unduli, Barriss Offee became disillusioned with the Jedi Order during the Clone Wars. She ultimately betrayed the Jedi, even launching a terrorist attack on the Jedi Temple itself, and framed Ahsoka for the crime. Exposed, Barriss was imprisoned - but she was recovered by the Empire shortly after Revenge of the Sith, joining the ranks of the Imperial Inquisitors.
As seen in Star Wars Rebels set in the years just before A New Hope, it was revealed that the Inquisitors had been using a holo-recording they made of Luminara just before her execution as well as her remains to lure Jedi survivors out of hiding. As such, Tales of the Jedi may feature Luminara's capture and imprisonment during the dawn of the Imperial era. To that end, this would naturally create an incredibly brutal opportunity for Barriss Offee and her induction into the Inquisitorius.
