The hybrid gets more power, and the AWD system has been remapped. But it'll cost ya.
has been the Japanese automaker's bread and butter in the U.S. since 2017, taking the sales crown for both the company and the category in its market domination for years now. There's an all-new CR-V for the 2023 model year, with more rigid, truck-like styling and a new, slightly more powerful available hybrid powertrain. The EPA's fuel economy ratings are also out, though there's no significant change or improvement over the previous model year.
For that new price, the EX gets a 1.5-liter I-4 engine good for 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque mated to an automatic continuously variable transmission . Honda claims it's been retuned for improved responsiveness, but on paper the fuel economy figures haven't changed compared to the outgoing model, listed at 28 City, 34 Highway, and 34 combined. Getting the EX AWD cuts down the fuel economy just a hair, which is outlined in the chart below.
