For the first time in its 71-year-old history, a woman — Thai billionaire Anne Jakapong Jakrajutatip — has acquired ownership of the iconic Miss Universe Organization .Jakrajutatip's Thailand-based global content commerce and broadcast company JKN Global Group bought MUO — which holds the right to Miss Universe, Miss USA and Miss Teena USA — from Endeavor's IMG.

Miss Universe is one of the longest-running and most-watched competitions in the world, broadcast in 165 countries worldwide and seen by more than half a billion people annually.MUO's current CEO, Amy Emmerich, and president, Paula Shugart will retain the leadership positions. The two were also virtually present in the media conference and shared their excitement in the new partnership.
