Texas Parks and Wildlife commissioners will vote Thursday on whether to adopt a policy that would restrict its power to use eminent domain.

Meanwhile, TPWD commission chairman Arch “Beaver” Aplin III and other commissioners said at the time of the June vote thatand that eminent domain would only be used in “extraordinary and unusual situations.”

The commission also will consider factors such as “the amount of public investment in the property, the level of public support for the acquisition, the number of visitors served by the property while dedicated to public use, and the natural and cultural resources of the property,” the policy says.
