After impressing as a freshman, Andrew Body gets the nod as Texas Southern's starting quarterback for Saturday's season opener at Prairie View A&M.Prairie View is coming off a SWAC Western Division title and looking to repeat. But the Panthers will have to do so under new leadership. Bubba McDowell was promoted to head coach, replacing Eric Dooley.
Texas Southern has shown improvement under Clarence McKinney, who took over the program starting with the 2019 season. The Panthers got the best of the Tigers in last year’s Labor Day Classic, prevailing 40-17.There’s not many college football games Saturday that have the importance of the TSU-PV matchup. It’s a meeting of the only two Texas-based schools in the SWAC that are located about 50 miles apart.
