Typically, big ticket legislation like this would be heralded with a signing ceremony involving the bill’s supporters. House sponsor, Rep. Tom Oliverson, R-Cypress, said a signing ceremony had been requested and could still take place.
As of early Friday early evening, the governor had not tweeted about the signing. His spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Sen. Donna Campbell, the new Braunfels Republican who authored the bill, did not immediately respond to an email requesting comment..
