Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton 's securities fraud case is unlikely to go to trial in April as a pre-trial diversion agreement has been reached between prosecutors and Paxton's attorneys. Under the proposed agreement, Paxton would have to perform community service , take legal education classes , and pay restitution. He would not have to enter a plea, and the cases would be dismissed if he meets the terms of the deal.
Paxton had failed to register with the Texas State Securities Board in 2014, a crime he himself voted into law
