An 18-year-old male died at a hospital after the shooting Sunday night in the West Akron neighborhood.
AKRON, Ohio — At least one gunman in a vehicle opened fire on people in front of a home Sunday night in the West Akron neighborhood, killing an 18-year-old male and wounding a 22-year-old woman, police say.
The shooting on the 500 block of Noble Avenue, south of Copley Road, was reported at about 10:43 p.m., police say. When officers arrived, they found the teen male lying wounded in the street with multiple wounds. The woman was shot in the leg.Both were taken to the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center, where the teen as pronounced dead at 11 p.m., according to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office. Police say the woman is expected to recover.
The identity of the teen has not been released. Police say the suspect or suspects might have been in an SUV. Anyone with information can call detectives at 330-375-2490.
