New York City police said Thursday they had located a 14-year-old wanted in connection with the stabbing of Tessa Majors on Dec. 11 one block from Columbia University.
New York City police said Thursday they had located a 14-year-old wanted in connection with the stabbing ofRodney Harrison, chief of the NYPD detectives, took the rare step of circulating a photo of the unidentified teen on Twitter five days ago, seeking public assistance in locating him.Tessa Majors, 18, a freshman at Barnard College from Charlottesville, Virginia,Majors was attacked while walking in the park around 7 p.m.
Police Commissioner Dermot Shea acknowledged there has been a surge of robberies perpetrated by juveniles at Morningside Park, which has long had a reputation for danger. Shea said that police increased deployments in the area and that city parks are much safer than when he was growing up in the city.
