Colin Allred of Dallas is tightening, according to a new poll released Thursday by the University of Houston and Texas Southern University . About 47% of likely voters said they would support Cruz, a Republican who is seeking his third term in Washington . Another 44% said they would support Allred, a Dallas Democrat, and 3% said they would support the Libertarian candidate. About 6% were undecided.
