Public school teachers first enjoyed the WTDIB four years ago when Congress inserted the incentive benefit as an item in the General Appropriations Law of 2019 with an initial funding of P800 million. World Teachers’ Day is an international day declared by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
Republic Act No. 10743 declared Oct. 5 of every year as National Teachers’ Day to pay tribute to those engaged in the teaching profession.
