Now through September 24 parents can head to Target to trade-in their old car seat for 20 percent off new baby gear.

old car seats, including infant seats, convertible seats, car seat bases, harness or booster car seats and car seats that are expired or damaged. Materials from the old car seats will be recycled by Target’s partner, Waste Management.. Then, all they have to do is head to your local Target store, drop it off at one of the boxes located near Guest Services and scan into their Circle using their cellphone.

Anyone who trades in their old car seat will be given a 20 percent off coupon to use towards a new car seat, car seat base, travel system, stroller or select baby home gear, including playards, high chairs, swings, rockers and bouncers. This coupon can be applied to both in-store and online purchases until Oct. 8.

Target first rolled out the program in April 2016—and has recycled nearly 1.7 million car seats and over 25 million pounds of plastic since.
