The Tanduay Rum Festival kicked off its fourth year in Bacolod City on Saturday, August 17, 2024. This year's festival marks a significant milestone for Tanduay, celebrating its 170th anniversary and continued dominance in the rum market, having surpassed Bacardi in sales since 2019.

In 2023, the city welcomed a record-breaking 780,000 tourists, generating P7 billion in local receipts. Mayor Albee Benitez, a staunch supporter of the festival, highlighted its role in promoting Bacolod's rich heritage and culture."The Rum Festival is a testament to our city's unique identity, showcasing our local music, arts, and, of course, our beloved rum," said Mayor Benitez.
This year's festival features a diverse lineup of activities, including a food park night market, a mixology and flairtending competition, a culinary competition, a distillery tour, and a rum masterclass. The festival will also showcase live performances by renowned artists, with Juan Karlos"JK" Labajo headlining the 2024 edition.
The opening ceremonies were graced by Atty. Carlos Luis Fernandez, PAL OIC/EVP-General Counsel, who joined Mayor Benitez in expressing enthusiasm for the festival's continued success. Both officials emphasized the festival's importance in promoting Bacolod City as a safe and welcoming destination for tourists.
