TACLOBAN CITY — The Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) of Tacloban is fully supporting the Department of Social Welfare and Develop-ment's (DSWD) initiative to create a unified ID system for persons with disabilities (PWDs).
TACLOBAN CITY — The Persons with Disability Affairs Office of Tacloban is fully supporting the Department of Social Welfare and Develop-ment's initiative to create a unified ID system for persons with disabilities .This new system aims to prevent the use of fake IDs, which have been hurting small businesses and restaurants, and to stop the abuse of privileges and benefits.
The NCDA, an affiliated agency of the DSWD, previously announced that the Unified ID system for PWDs will be carried out across the country in July.The DSWD and NCDA will work together on the development of a unified ID system for PWDs in partnership with local government units via their respective PDAOs.To prevent fraud, the unified ID system will include both a physical ID and a digital ID that includes the PWD's biometrics.
