deputies attempted to serve an eviction notice to a resident who remains barricaded inside their apartment., two deputies were assigned to serve an eviction notice to a resident at an apartment complex located in the 2300 block of North Cahuenga Boulevard when they heard a shot being fired inside the apartment around 9:10 a.m. Deputies then called for backup and several other deputies, crisis negotiations, and other agencies responded to the scene.
Officials with the Los Angeles Police Department said the freeway will remain closed in order to alleviate any threats to drivers on the 101 Freeway. They do not have an estimated time of reopening and as of 1 p.m, the northbound lanes remained closed while the southbound lanes were slowly reopening ahead of the evening rush hour. Officials said the northbound lanes would reopen once authorities determined there was no longer a safety issue.
On Thursday morning, FOX 11's Stu Mundel reported from SkyFOX traffic was backed up to the 170 Freeway. Traffic on the northbound side is being taken off Hollywood Boulevard and traffic was initially diverted off Highland Avenue on the southbound side. This is a developing story.
